Since 1973, our family has been dedicated to crafting pure maple syrup with care and a deep connection to the land.
It all began when Paul Doerfler and Julia Richmond made their home in the forests of Quebec, living in a tipi and embracing a simple, hands-on lifestyle. They tapped trees by hand, collected sap in buckets, and used a horse to pull the sap through the woods. What started as a dream of living close to nature has grown into a cherished multi-generational tradition, now spanning Vermont as well.
Julia still loves walking the woods and helping wherever needed, while Paul enjoys personally delivering syrup to our longtime customers. Certified organic and Kosher, our syrup reflects the quality, tradition, and values we’ve upheld for over 50 years.

Paul Doerfler

Paul Doerfler is the heart and soul of our farm’s heritage. He started the farm in 1973 alongside Julia Richmond, driven by a passion for simple living and hands-on work. From living in a tipi to pioneering our sugaring methods, Paul’s dedication to tradition has shaped everything we do. To this day, he takes pride in personally delivering syrup to our valued customers, keeping the connection between our farm and your table alive.

Julia Richmond

Julia Richmond, co-founder of Tree Brand Maple, has been a vital part of our family farm since 1973. Her love for nature and simple living helped shape the foundation of our maple sugaring tradition. Julia still enjoys her walks in the woods and hiking in the mountains, and her huge summer garden keeps us well-fed all year long. Her warmth and dedication continue to inspire everything we do at Tree Brand Maple.

Abraham Doerfler

braham Doerfler is the next generation keeping Tree Brand Maple going strong. Growing up surrounded by the family’s maple sugaring traditions, he’s now the go-to guy for fixing things, handling repairs, and even dealing with all the behind-the-scenes stuff that comes with making syrup. With a fresh outlook and respect for what his parents started, Abraham’s making sure the farm stays healthy and thriving for years to come.

Martha Doerfler And Bow

Martha and Bow, key members of the Doerfler family, bring a perfect mix of hard work and fun to Tree Brand Maple. Martha’s sharp eye for detail keeps everything in check, while Bow is always ready to lend a hand with the heavy lifting (and sometimes just for moral support). Together, they blend tradition with modern touches, making sure that resilience, quality, and family values are at the heart of everything we do—with a little laughter along the way.

Ruthy Doerfler

Ruthy Doerfler is the heart of Tree Brand Maple, juggling everything from keeping the food systems running smoothly to caring for the animals—and of course, she’s always in the thick of syrup making and canning. Whether it’s making sure the farm stays healthy or making sure there’s enough syrup to go around, Ruthy’s got it covered. She’s hands-on, always busy, and keeps everything in check with a smile, ensuring we keep crafting pure, organic maple syrup for the future.

Elijah Doerfler

Elijah Doerfler is the backbone of Tree Brand Maple’s Vermont operation, where he handles everything with efficiency, a strong work ethic, and a keen eye for detail. His love for hard work and sports gives him the energy and discipline needed to keep things running smoothly on the farm. Whether he’s tending to the maple trees or fine-tuning production, Elijah’s dedication ensures that our maple syrup stays top-notch year after year.
